CD Projekt Red released a patch for the PC versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on Monday. The update should fix the stability issues introduced by the next-gen upgrade and improve the game’s performance.

Marcin Momot shares on Twitter, CD Projekt RED’s global community director, the size of the update. The update is 3GB in the Steam version and the patch has a size of 1.9GB in the GOG version. Several PC players had complained about The Witcher 3’s frame rate drops and long texture loading times, among other things. After the update is installed, these issues should be resolved. The update should not only improve the performance and stability of the game, but also the functioning of the Steam and GOG overlays.

Furthermore, the Origin version of the next-gen upgrade has become available. A number of Origin users give up on the CD Projekt RED forums however, that they are having problems installing the upgrade.

The next-gen upgrade to The Witcher 3 was released on December 14 for all versions of the game. In addition to ray tracing support for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC, CD Projekt Red and Saber Interactive have added “dozens of visual, performance, and technical improvements.”
