Nvidia slashes GeForce RTX 4090 and 4080 Founders Edition prices by 5 percent
Nvidia has lowered the suggested retail prices of its GeForce RTX 4090 and 4080 Founders Editions in Europe. These are reductions of approximately 5 percent. Presumably, the company does this because of the appreciation of the euro against the dollar.
Nvidia has released the prices of its RTX 40 Founders Edition recently updated on its websitenoticed German tech website HardwareLuxx op. The GeForce RTX 4080 is now for sale for 1399 euros, where that video card previously cost 1469 euros. The price of the GeForce RTX 4090 has dropped from 1949 to 1869 euros.
Nvidia has not officially announced the price cut. It is probably a price correction, as the value of the euro has recently risen against the dollar. So this doesn’t seem like a response to AMD’s recently announced Radeon RX 7900 XT and XTX, which will be available next week for $899 and $999, respectively.
The new, reduced prices have already been implemented at other retailers who supply the Founders Editions, HardwareLuxx reports. However, the prices of the custom RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 video cards still appear to be unchanged. At the time of writing, for example, a modified RTX 4090 is listed in the Pricewatch for 2149 euros. Custom RTX 4080 cards currently retail for $1,469.
