Images show alleged new Nest smart speaker from Google

Photos have emerged of a new Nest smart speaker from Google. This is a device internally referred to as the GXCA6. Earlier this week, this device was already approved by the US Federal Communications Commission.

The FCC approval was noticed by 9to5Google, among others. While there are few visual details to note from the FCC approval itself, Android TV Guide later images of the alleged product on Twitter. This would be a new Google Nest speaker, which would replace the original Google Home.

Based on the photos, the product appears to be about 22cm high and 13cm wide. That is larger than the current Google Home speaker, which is 14.3 cm high and 9.64 cm wide. The smart speaker is oval-shaped with a gray appearance. The whole is covered with fabric. The device also has a physical mute button, just like its predecessor.

Some FCC documents also show that the product will receive support for WiFi 5 and Bluetooth. Support for WiFi 6 or WiFi 6e seems to be missing. The FCC approval was filed on February 7 and was made public on July 8. Rumors have been circulating for some time about a new smart speaker from Google. Earlier this year, images of a new Android TV dongle from Google also appeared. This product is also oval-shaped and features a remote control. It is not yet clear if and when these products will appear on the market.
