Project Cars engine based sim racer Automobilista 2 has been released
Version 1.0 of simracer Automobilista 2 is available on Steam. Developer Reiza Studios has collaborated with the makers of Project Cars and uses the same Madness engine. The game has VR support and is for sale for 37 euros.
According to the makers, Automobilista 2 is a comprehensive simulator of Brazilian motorsport, which took almost ten years to develop. The game features racing classes and tracks used in Brazil, as well as a number of international tracks. Although the 1.0 version of the game is now available, the makers say there is a plan for further long-term development, with new game modes, cars and tracks being added all the time.
Reiza Studios lists all the innovations made in version 1.0 of the game on its forum. The game has dynamic weather conditions and VR support. On Steam, the game costs 37 euros, but to obtain all content, a season pass is also required. It costs another 90 euros.
Automobilista 2 is focused on realism. The makers have teamed up with Project Cars developers and have used the same Madness engine. The developers of the Project Cars games were enlisted by Codemasters last year. Project Cars 3 has since been announced, the first game in the series under the new publisher. The third part is much less realistic than its predecessors.
