Exactly one month after the release of new beta firmware, HDi Dune has now released stable firmware for several of its media players, such as the Base 3.0, the Prime 3.0, the Max and the Smart. These full-HD media players are built around a Sigma Designs 8642 media processor. The Dune media players are characterized by great ease of use and extensive options. More information about these media players can be found in this topic on GoT.

Last month’s beta firmware includes improvements to media playback, music playback while viewing photos, and the player’s display can show more information. Furthermore, there is support for controlling the player via ip-control and it has become possible to restore the factory settings without loading an external file. Relative to the beta firmware, there are still a handful of bug fixes.

Changes since 110127_2105_beta:

  • Bugfix: Specific M2TS files could not be played.
  • Bugfix: Specific MP4 files (such as files from specific video cameras) could be played without sound on HDMI output.
  • Bugfix: DVB-T channels scan failed in specific cases in some countries/locations.
  • Bugfix: icons loading could fail in some cases for some applications (such as KartinaTV).
  • Bugfix: some Blu-ray discs could not be played in specific cases (“Securiry Violation” error was produced).
  • Bugfix: Restarting optical disc playback (after stopping the playback of the same disc) could not work in some cases

From top to bottom: HDi Dune Base, Prime, Max and Smart.
