Asus claims thinnest screen edges so far with new ZenBook S13 laptop
Asus has announced a new notebook in its ZenBook S series which, according to the manufacturer, has the thinnest screen edges in a laptop so far. The edges on the side of the 13.9 “large screen are 2.5mm thick.
The edge at the top of the new ZenBook UX392 is very tight, so Asus has the edge in the slightly raised in the middle, to create room for the webcam. This tab should also make it easier to open the laptop when it is closed. Although the screen diagonal of the UX392 is 0.6 “larger than that of its predecessor, he is as big as the previous model because of the smaller screen edges. The screen is still a full-HD IPS panel with a maximum brightness of 400 cd / m2.
Asus delivers the UX392 with a Core i5-8265U or i7-8565U from Intel’s new Whiskey Lake generation. The memory goes up to 16GB, the PCI-e-SSD has a maximum capacity of 1TB and the GPU is up to a GeForce MX150-GPU. The touchpad is equipped with a built-in fingerprint scanner and the backlit keyboard has, according to Asus, just a bit more travel than that of the UX391.
On the right side, Asus has placed a USB-a-port, while on the left two USB-c-connections back which support the USB 3.1 gen2 protocol. The battery has a capacity of 50Wh. When the new ZenBook will be for sale and what it is going to cost is not yet known.
