Dropbox is an online storage service that makes it possible to synchronize files between different computers. In addition, files and photo albums can be shared with people who don’t have Dropbox accounts. Clients are available for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, iPhone, iPad, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile.

A free account gives access to 2GB of storage with the option to expand it by introducing new users. For ten, twenty or fifty dollars a month, that’s 100, 200 or 500GB respectively. In version 1.5, which is currently labeled as experimental, most of the changes have been made to make the storage service work properly under the latest version of Mac OS X, Mountain Lion. There are also various bug fixes and performance improvements.
