Star Wars Episode I: Racer coming to PS4 and Switch next week
Star Wars Episode I: Racer comes out in a week for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The game was supposed to be released last month, but was postponed until further notice. Developer Aspyr Media has now set the new release date to June 23.
It is a rerelease of Star Wars Episode 1: Racer from 1999. The game was then released for PC and Nintendo 64. The new version has a single player mode and multiplayer with split screen. There is a choice of 25 podracers and there are 8 circuits available, including Tatooine, Baroonda and Malastare. The controls have been adapted to modern consoles, but the graphics are largely unchanged.
The port was announced in March and was set to release on May 12, but the developer postponed it as work was delayed due to the coronavirus crisis. Aspyer has the new release date announced on Twitter. The game costs $15.
Update: it is not a remaster, but a port to the new consoles. The text has been adapted accordingly.
