Download NewsLeecher 3.5 beta 8
Today is the eighth beta release of NewsLeecher 3.5. With this program binary files from newsgroups can be downloaded. It also has an integrated search function (super search), so that you do not have to download all the headers for a group from which you want to download files. In addition, there is NZB support. These small files describe where certain binaries are located on Usenet, so that in this case also not all headers need to be downloaded. Here’s what’s changed in NewsLeecher since its previous entry in the junk tracker:
Changes in version 3.5 beta 8:
- Readded the XPAT server search feature due to the many user requests.
- A few small improvements here and there.
- Fixed a bug that sometimes caused NewsLeecher to corrupt group caches when incoming article headers were incorrectly formatted. More information.
- Fixed a bug that sometimes caused NewsLeecher to return an “Invalid Date Format” bug when browsing groups and using the the “Max/Min Age” filters.
- Various bug fixes. (Changed the way NewsLeecher saves setup files to disk, which should prevent corrupt data files, etc)
Changes in version 3.5 beta 7:
- Fixed a bug that caused Super Search to crash under heavy loads.
