Xbox Series X and S get update to show which games use Quick Resume

Microsoft has released an update for the Xbox Series X and S for a small test group that provides insight into which games use the Quick Resume function. It also becomes possible to delete the saved sessions.

The ability to see all current Quick Resume saves from the various games is a much requested feature, according to Microsoft. This is now possible in the form of a new group that displays the saved state of game sessions. In addition, it is possible to view a saved state of a game remove, when the player no longer wishes to use the Quick Resume function for that game.

Until now, there was no clear display or indicator of which games were saved in Quick Resume. There’s limited space for that save feature, making it unclear which games had fast resume capability.

The Quick Resume function makes it possible to switch between games smoothly. In seconds, the exact state of a game session is saved and that of another game is loaded, after which players can continue playing exactly from where they left off.

In addition, the new Insiders update makes it possible to see via the Guide whether the currently played game supports Quick Resume. This will then appear in the top right corner of the overlay of the Xbox interface, where, for example, an indicator also appears if the game supports the Auto HDR function.

For now, the update is only available to a small group of testers from the Alpha Skip-Ahead group. In time, the update will be released for all users, but it is still unknown when that will be the case.
