GTA V coming next year in ‘improved’ form for next-gen consoles
Rockstar Games will bring an ‘expanded and improved’ version of GTA V to the PlayStation 5 in the second half of 2021. Rockstar and Sony announced this during Sony’s virtual Future of Gaming event.
Sony started its online Future of Gaming presentation for PS5 games with the visuals of GTA V, after which the company announced that the game, which first appeared in 2013, will be released for its new console next year.
The company also announced that buyers of a PlayStation 5 will receive GTA Online, in combination with PlayStation Plus. In addition, owners of GTA V for the PlayStation 4 will receive $1 million in GTA Cash each month until the release of GTA V for the PlayStation V in 2021.
Rockstar Games writes on its blog that GTA V is coming to more next-gen consoles next year. The developer does not mention the Xbox Series X, but it is likely that the improved version will also appear for Microsoft’s new console.
