Intel Announces Series NUC 12 Pro Kits With Alder Lake CPUs

Intel announces four mini PC kits in the new NUC 12 Pro series, all equipped with a twelfth generation Alder Lake processor. Configurations with an i7-1270P, i7-1260P, i5-1250P and i3-1220P are possible. These P variants have more cores and a higher tdp than the U series.

The Intel NUC 12 Pro mini PC kits codenamed Wall Street Canyon all support up to 64GB DDR4-3200 memory. Apart from the i3 version, all processors have a tdp of 35W, 16 threads and a composition of 4 P and 8 E cores. The i3 variant has a tdp of 20 watts, 12 threads and 2 P and 8 E cores respectively. The NUC 11 Pro with Tiger Lake processors did not go beyond four ‘regular’ cores.

There are two main categories available, namely the vPro models with an i7-1270P or an i5-1250P and the regular Intel NUC 12 Pros with an i7-1260P, i5-1250P or an i3-1220P. Apart from the i3 version, all variants are equipped with an integrated Iris Xe GPU with 80 to 96 eus. The i3 version uses an integrated Intel UHD GPU with 64 eus.

There are also three USB 3.2 ports, a USB-A port and two HDMI 2.1 connections in all models and some SKUs have two Thunderbolt 4 ports. All versions have an Ethernet connection and Wi-Fi 6E, although an M.2 2242 slot is occupied for the latter in the case of the non-vPro models. Furthermore, users can choose from a Tall or a Slim format. The small variants only have room for an M.2 2280 SSD. The large versions also have room for a 2.5″ storage drive.

Intel announces within the same series also various other variants, for example with only a board or complete mini PCs including memory, storage space and an operating system. No suggested retail prices for the NUC 12 Pro series have been announced yet. Previously, Intel introduced a few other products within the NUC 12 series, such as a variant with a laptop CPU from the faster H series and the NUC 12 Extreme with a desktop processor, but these obviously do not follow the ‘original’ NUC form factor. roughly 10x10cm.
