Firmware includes images from Google Android TV dongle and remote
Images of Google’s Android TV dongle and its remote control have surfaced online. The images come from a marketing video contained in a leaked firmware file. The device has an oval shape.
The images make it clear that Sabrina is the internal name by which the device is known. A render of a remote control is also shown. It has six buttons and a touch wheel at the top with a button in the middle. The firmware containing the images is in the hands of XDA Developers. The website has put screenshots from the video online. It shows renders of the unannounced Google Android TV dongle.
Analysis of the firmware shows that the Android TV dongle has support for Dolby Vision and is equipped with an Amlogic soc. It is not known which soc it is exactly. Concrete details about the availability or price of the dongle are not yet available. There have been rumors for some time about the arrival of a new Android TV dongle from Google. According to those rumors, the dongle including remote control would cost about $ 80.
The images found in the firmware are from a video shot by a Google designer on October 10, 2019. That was five days before the announcement of the Pixel 4 smartphone. The video shows how users can connect and set up the dongle. The video also shows a new Android TV interface.
