OPPO releases Reno8 5G smartphones in Europe with suggested retail prices from 529 euros
OPPO will release its Reno8 smartphones in Europe on Wednesday, August 31. That makes the smartphone manufacturer known. The phones have Dimensity sockets from MediaTek. The OPPO Reno8 5G will be available for 529 euros. A Pro variant costs 749 euros.
The OPPO Reno8 Pro 5G gets a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max socket, which features four Arm Cortex-A78 cores at 2.85GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.00GHz. This chip is assisted by an OPPO MariSilicon X-npu, which is mainly intended for processing photos and videos. The phone comes with 8GB Lpddr4x memory and has 256GB storage.
The non-Pro variant of the Reno8 5G features a slower MediaTek Dimensity 1300-soc and does not have a MariSilicon X-npu, the company reports in a press release. This smartphone also comes standard with 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage.
The Reno8 Pro 5G also has a larger 6.7″ AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2412×1080 pixels. The refresh rate of this panel is 120Hz. The ‘regular’ Reno8 5G has a 90Hz AMOLED screen of 6.4″ with a resolution of 2400×1080. pixels.
The further specifications of the two devices are comparable. The smartphones both have a primary 50-megapixel camera, an 8-megapixel sensor with wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The front camera of both devices has a resolution of 32 megapixels and is incorporated in a hole in the screen. Both phones get a 4500mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. According to the manufacturer, the battery can be charged to fifty percent in ten minutes. The phones come with ColorOS 12.1, which is based on Android 12.
