Realme announces cheap smartwatch and televisions
Oppo sister company realme has announced a smartwatch and multiple televisions in India. The watch has the same functionality as the previously released realme fitness band, but has a larger screen. The TVs run Android TV and come in sizes of 32″ and 43″.
The realme Watch has a 1.4″ LCD with a resolution of 320×320 pixels that is finished with Gorilla Glass 3. The watch is water resistant according to the ip68 rating and has a 160mAh battery. The watch is equipped with a heart rate monitor and a oxygen saturation monitor and can be used for sleep tracking Fourteen sport modes are available for activity tracking.
Realme will be selling the watch in India from June 5 for Rs 3999. Converted that is about 48 euros. Whether and when the smartwatch will be released in Europe is not yet known. Realme does sell some of its smartphones in Europe, usually appearing a few weeks or months later than in India.
The smartwatch was announced via a live stream, in which realme also presented two TVs for the Indian market. It is a 32″ model with 720p resolution and a 43″ variant with 1080p resolution. The TVs support HDR10 and Hlg and achieve a brightness of 400cd/m2. Realme provides the TVs with a MediaTek quadcore soc, 1GB ram and 8GB flash storage.
Both TVs run on Android TV and have Google Assistant and Chromecast support built-in. From June 2, the TVs will be on sale in India for 12,999 and 21,999 rupees. Converted that is about 157 and 267 euros.
Furthermore, realme presents the Buds Air Neo. These are wireless earphones in the style of Apple’s AirPods. The sale starts in India immediately for 2999 rupees, converted about 36 euros. As a subsidiary of the Chinese BBK Electronics, Realme is affiliated with Oppo, Vivo and OnePlus, among others.
