Specifications of AMD Renoir desktop apus were posted on Biostar’s website
Specifications and product names of some AMD Renoir desktop APUs have appeared on the website of motherboard manufacturer Biostar. The specifications were listed on the product page of a motherboard.
The specifications could be found on the product page of a B550 motherboard from the company, Hardware.info writes. The chips were mentioned in a list of supported processors, although they have since been removed from the website.
According to the list, the Ryzen 7 4700G will be the highest-ranking Renoir apu, which will probably get 8 cores with simultaneous multithreading. As expected, this processor will have a clock speed of 3.6GHz and a TDP of 65W, making the chip broadly comparable to the current Ryzen 7 3700X. There will also be a Pro variant of the 4700G. The clock speed and tdp remain the same with that model, according to the specifications. According to the list, AMD will also come with a GE variant, which will probably be more energy-efficient. This processor has a clock speed of 3.1GHz and a TDP of 35W.
There are also some Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3 APUs mentioned on the list. These are expected to get six and four cores with smt, respectively. The Ryzen 5 4400G is clocked at 3.7GHz, while the GE variant runs at 3.3GHz. The Ryzen 3 4200G and 4200GE are clocked at 3.8GHz and 3.5GHz respectively.
It is not yet known when AMD will announce the Renoir desktop APUs. Several manufacturers do mention the chips on their website, in addition to Biostar. For example, ASRock mentions support for Renoir chips on the product page of its Taichi B550 motherboard. Presumably, the chips will be made public in the short term. In addition, according to rumors, the company would soon come with a refresh of its current Ryzen 3000 desktop processors. These will reportedly be announced on June 16.
