Softland today released version 5.0 build 214 of doPDF. Softland is also the maker of novaPDF and Backup4all, among others. DoPDF is a PDF converter and installs like a printer driver, making it easy to create PDF documents from any program. The software is free for both private and commercial use, does not require Ghostscript to work, and does not add any watermark or advertisement. Only in the screen where you have to choose the location where the PDF document will be saved is a mention to novaPDF, a similar program with more extensive options, but not free. We can’t tell you exactly what has changed in this release, because it comes without a changelog. What is striking is that the download size has shrunk from over 2.5 to less than 1MB.
