TCL presents a cheap tablet with far-field microphones
TCL has unveiled this year’s 1T10 tablets. Compared to the predecessor, the 1T10 now has the full version of Android instead of Android Go and it has two microphones and two speakers to use Google Assistant from a distance.
The full version of Android and the dual speaker and microphone to hear audio remotely are only on the 32GB version of the tablet and not on the 16GB version, TCL said. The manufacturer has not changed much about the tablet: it still has a 10.1 “LCD of 1280×800 pixels.
The soc is a MediaTek MT8167B with four Cortex A35 cores at 1.3GHz and a PowerVR GE8300 GPU from Imagination. The 16GB version with Android Go has 1GB RAM, the 32GB version has a 2GB RAM.
According to the manufacturer, the tablet is mainly aimed at children and digital learning. The battery has a capacity of 4080mAh, while the battery can be charged with 5W, a process that takes five hours. According to the manufacturer, the battery can make video calls for four hours on a full battery charge. The 16G version with Android Go costs 99 euros, the 32GB variant has to cost 119 euros.
