AirPods Studio gets sensors to pause music when it’s around the neck

The AirPods Studio headphones come with sensors to detect when the headphones are hanging around the neck or worn on the head. For example, the headphones can presumably pause the music if the user hangs the headphones around his neck.

This new function is similar to a function of the regular AirPods, which detect when the user takes the earbuds out of their ears. 9to5Mac writes that based on anonymous sources. The Studio also gets sensors to recognize the left and right ear. Normally, headphones are divided into a left and a right shell, in order to direct the audio channels to the right ear. Presumably the Studio will not have ‘left and right sides’, but will determine which channel should go which side.

According to the site, the headphones, just like the AirPods Pro, will receive support for noise canceling and the Transparency mode, which allows outside noise. According to the source, Apple focuses mainly on professional users. If you connect the headphones to a Mac or iOS device, you should have access to extensive equalizer settings.

Last month it appeared that the headphones will receive replaceable parts. For example, the ear cups and the headband padding are attached to the frame with magnets. Users could purchase replacement parts. Jon Prosser let previously on Twitter know that the headphones would be given the Studio name. The 9to5Mac article seems to confirm his tweet.
