Gigabyte introduces Aorus P1200W power supply with color display and 80 Plus Platinum
Gigabyte introduces a new power supply in its Aorus series. This P1200W has a large color LCD that can show power consumption, among other things. Users can also display their own images on the power supply.
The Aorus P1200W appeared on Gigabyte’s website this week. It is a 1200W model with a 80 Plus Platinumcertification, which requires the power supply to have an efficiency of at least 92 percent at 50 percent load. According to the company, the power supply has a single 12V rail and a 140mm fan. The power supply is modular and has two 6-pin connectors for CPUs and six 6+2-pin connectors for video cards. Furthermore, users can connect up to 16 SATA devices to the power supply.
The power supply also features a large color LCD, although the company does not mention a screen diagonal. On it, users can, for example, display monitoring functions, such as the power consumption of the PC or the fan speed of the power supply. Users can also upload their own text, images, gifs or videos to the power supply via Gigabyte’s RGB Fusion software.
There are already power supplies with an integrated OLED or LED screen, for example the ASUS ROG Thor and Cooler Master XG. However, these are often relatively small and simple screens that can only display numerical information, such as power consumption. Gigabyte has not yet published a suggested retail price for the power supply. It is also not yet known when the Aorus P1200W will appear in stores.
