Rumor: AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT will have an MSRP of $349
The upcoming AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT desktop graphics card may have an MSRP of $349. The lower-positioned Radeon RX 6600 would have a suggested retail price of $299.
The rumors come from tech website Neowin, which relies on an anonymous source familiar with AMD’s plans. The website also reports that the information is about a month old, which means that AMD may have changed the recommended prices again. Both AMD and Nvidia have changed the suggested retail price several times prior to previous GPU releases, also writes VideoCardz.
Neowin reports that the suggested retail price of the Radeon RX 6600 XT is $349, because the GPU in rasterization would outperform the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060, which costs $329. The ray tracing performance of the RTX 3060 would be better. AMD initially considered giving the RX 6600 XT an MSRP of $369, but Neowin said the company didn’t want users to switch to a cheaper RTX 3060 because of its extra GDDR6 memory.
The Radeon RX 6600 XT is expected to be based on a fully enabled Navi 23 GPU with 32 compute units, which together account for 2048 stream processors. The video card would reach clock speeds of up to 2.5GHz. In terms of memory, the Radeon RX 6600 XT would have 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128bit memory interface and a bandwidth of 256GB/s. This would use 16Gbit/s memory modules. There is also talk of 32MB of Infinity Cache.
The Radeon RX 6600 would be introduced together with the XT variant. The video card would have a suggested retail price of $ 299. The AMD Radeon RX 6600 is expected to get a Navi 23 GPU with 28 compute units, which amounts to 1792 stream processors. The other specifications, such as the clock speeds and the memory arrangement, would correspond to the XT variant.
According to previous rumors, AMD will announce its RX 6600 video cards on July 30. The video cards were supposed to come out on August 11. AMD sells its video cards through its own webshop at the suggested retail price, although prices at retailers can be considerably higher due to the worldwide chip shortages. Earlier this week, the French reported Cowcottland that the retail price of the Radeon RX 6600 XT was not expected to be less than 499 euros or 549 euros.
