Rumor: Dragon Age 4 is slated for a 2023 release
Dragon Age 4 is on track for a 2023 release, according to those involved. BioWare announced the long-awaited fourth installment of the RPG franchise in 2018. Since then, little new information about the game has been revealed.
Confirm sources opposite VentureBeat that no new information will be released about Dragon Age 4 until 2022 at the earliest. For the time being, only a short teaser and concept art of the game are available. BioWare and EA left on Twitter already know that Dragon Age 4 would not be shown during last Thursday’s EA Play Live event.
The Dragon Age franchise contains three renowned main installments so far, created by BioWare, the last game of which came out in 2014. The studio is known for RPGs like Mass Effect, Anthem, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the first two Baldur’s Gates. Electronic Arts also released some Dragon Age spin-offs between 2009 and 2014 for smartphones and web browsers, among others. There were also several books, comic books, videos and even a board game around Dragon Age.
Update, 21:55: BioWare’s resume has been clarified a bit. Initially, Baldur’s Gate was credited to BioWare, while later games in the franchise were made by other studios. Anthem has also been added to the list.
