Sony has made the XH95 TV available in five screen sizes. This is the top model of its LCD range, which combines a 4k resolution with HDR, full array local dimming and IMAX Enhanced support.

The largest model in the XH95 line-up has a screen diagonal of 85 inches and it will be available for 4499 euros and the smallest TV measures 49 inches and costs 1399 euros. The smallest variant, however, lacks some features that Sony offers with the XH95 from 55 inches, such as a double amplifier that controls the tweeter and speaker separately and a microphone on the remote control to control Google Assistant via speech. In the models from 55 inches, the remote control is made of aluminum and glows in the dark.

All models support full array local dimming, although it is unknown how many individually dimmable zones are involved. The TVs can handle the hdr formats hdr10, hlg and Dolby Vision. In addition, there’s a Netflix Calibrated Mode and support for IMAX Enhanced, both of which promise ‘true’ playback. The processor is the X1 Ultimate from Sony and there is 16GB of storage space. The OS is Android TV 9. There is also support for Apple AirPlay and HomeKit and for Google Home, while a link with Amazon Alexa devices can also be made.

At the beginning of March, Sony already made the XH81, XH80 and X70 TVs with LCD panels available, the OLED models of 2020 should follow at the end of May.
