Chinese manufacturer demonstrates gaming handheld with Ryzen 7 6800U
Aokzoe, a new Chinese manufacturer, demonstrates a gaming handheld with an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U laptop processor configured at 28W. The company showcases its achievements in games like Forza Horizon 5, Cyberpunk 2077, and Elden Ring.
In a video about Forza Horizon 5 on the Aokzoe handheld, the company provides extensive details about the settings. For example, the game runs in a resolution of 1280×800 pixels on low settings with a frame rate of more than 100fps and at a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels that is more than 70fps. On high settings, that’s about 50fps at the 1200p resolution.
In another video, Aokzoe shows how Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring and Monster Hunter: World run. However, no details are given about the chosen resolution and graphic settings. Both Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring run at speeds above 50fps in the video. That indicates the use of a low resolution and low settings. Monster Hunter gets 80 to 100 fps, but that is a less graphically demanding game.
The second video shows that the handheld is equipped with 16GB of ram. Further specifications have not been disclosed, although it is visible that the console has a relatively large screen, with a 16:10 ratio. It is not clear when Aokzoe plans to release his handheld and what it will cost.
Aokzoe has not released any products before. The manufacturer joins a row of other Chinese manufacturers with its gaming handheld that have announced handheld consoles with Ryzen 6000U processors. Those are Aya Neo, GPD, AYN and OneXPlayer. None of these handhelds have been released so far. The handhelds are not expected to be released until the end of the year.
The Ryzen 7 6800U was announced early this year. The 6nm apu has 8 Zen3+ cores and an RDNA 2 GPU with 12 compute units. AMD also has a Ryzen 5 6600U in its range, with six CPU cores and a GPU with six CUs. Several Chinese manufacturers have also announced handhelds with that less powerful apu. The first laptops with Ryzen 6000U apus have been announced, but hardly available yet.
