Nest Audio speakers get Chromecast integration for output TV audio

Google is working on the integration of Nest Audio and Chromecast. Google does not give details about the integration yet, but it seems that thanks to the integration, Nest Audio speakers can be used as speakers for a TV with a Chromecast dongle.

Google confirms to The Wall Street Journal that it is working on ‘Nest Audio-Chromecast integration’. The company does not provide further details on this integration. Earlier this week, 9to5Google wrote that Google mentioned on the Nest Audio product page in its store that Nest Audio ‘could become your home theater sound system with Chromecast & Google TV’.

It therefore seems that Google is going to make it possible to link Nest Audio speakers to Chromecast so that the smart speakers reproduce the sound of the television. It is not clear how many speakers can be connected and whether this option also comes to, for example, the Google Home Max or other speakers. Amazon, for example, already offers this option with its Fire TV in combination with Echo speakers.
