For security, it is better to use different passwords so that if a particular service leaks passwords, not all your other accounts can be accessed with the same password. For keeping track of all these different passwords, password managers are a godsend. 1Password is one of them, and it is available as a web application and as an app on various platforms such as Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows. It can be tried for thirty days, after which a license must be obtained purchased† For more information about the possibilities, we refer to this page† AgileBits released a series of new versions a few days ago: 7.2 for iOS, 7.2.1 for macOS, 7.2.580 for Windows and 7.0.5 for Android. The lists of changes look like this:

Version 7.2.580 – Windows

Improvements

• 1Password now performs its proxy detection in a separate thread to avoid interfering with the main interface.
• To help with debugging, 1Password will now include a timestamped log of each item change and for which vault; no private data is recorded, only the item’s ID and its vault IDs.

Fixed

• When updating items in standalone vaults, 1Password would perform redundant updates to its local database that is no longer required, this should improve the performance.
• Clicking the edit button should be faster now.
• In a rare condition, 1Password didn’t migrate the account ID correctly when upgrading an old 1Password 6 database to the 7th version due to the 1Password account having since enabled its Two-Factor Authentication.
• 1Password now stops the animation when its window is not the frontmost window.
• When backing up standalone vaults, 1Password would create and include an extra zero-byte file called `default` but the `default` folder was already backed up, there was no need for this file anymore.

Version 7.2.1 – macOS

Improvements

• Several Dark Mode improvements.

Fixed

• Fixed a crash that could occur due to a Smart Folder referencing a Watchtower identifier that is no longer available.
• Better handling of Open and Fill requests from 3rd Party Applications.
• The right-click, contextual menu item for 1Password in Safari has returned.

Version 7.2 – iOS

New

• 1Password is built for and requires iOS 12.
• 1Password now supports Password AutoFill on iOS 12!
• 1Password now keeps itself up to date with the information from your 1Password.com account even when it’s not running, meaning your information is always on your device when you need it.
• A brand new font created specifically for 1Password and courtesy of Alan Dague-Greene is now used to display passwords and other secure information.
• Account categories and item fields are now localized.

Improvements

• Improved the logic behind item list reloading animations.
• Items in item lists now appear instantly when opening an item list.
• Clear Clipboard is automatically enabled for new users.

• Addressed several performance bottlenecks.

Fixed

• Fixed an issue that could cause smaller than intended font sizes in secure notes.
• Fixed an issue where Watchtower alerts might not show up when viewing an item.
• Fixed several interface glitches that could potentially occur during row insertions and deletions in item lists.
• Fixed an issue that prevented the Sign In button from working when having to reauthenticate with a 1Password Account.
• Fixed a rare issue that caused the 1Password App Extension to appear to freeze when launching.

Version 7.0.5 – Android

Improvements

• Vault switcher now indicates where Primary vault is stored.

Fixed

• Migration failure that could occur from a malformed sync path.
• Attachment filenames were included in the diagnostic report.
• Saving to a standalone vault with Autofill wasn’t allowed if 1Password wasn’t already running.
• Keyboard would hide after entering each digit of the two-factor authentication code for 1Password account on Android 9.
