Square Enix working on ‘upgraded version’ of 10-year-old RPG NieR
Square Enix announces development of NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139. According to the publisher, an upgraded version of the ten-year-old RPG will be released under that name. The new game is out for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and on Steam.
It is not yet known when the new version of NieR will be released and in which areas the game will be improved. For now is only game development announced, along with the platforms it appears on. A teaser video is also shown, but it does not show any gameplay.
There is no talk of a remake or remaster, but according to Siliconera it is clear that at least the texts of the new version are fully recorded. The game also gets new music and other additions, including new characters.
