Apple has version 15.2 of iOS released. From version 13, iOS is only suitable for the iPhone and the iPads have been given their own OS, with the main difference being the extra options to use the larger screen. In iOS 15, there are now four different types of notifications: passive, active, time sensitive, and critical. The second big new feature is Focus, a combination of Do Not Disturb and Auto Mode, along with new settings options. Furthermore, Facetime, Safari, Maps and Wallet have been provided with new functionality. In version 15.2, the following changes and improvements have also been made:

Privacy

  • With the app privacy report in Settings, you can see how often apps have accessed your location, photos, camera, microphone, contacts, network activity, and more in the past seven days

Apple ID

  • In your digital legacy, you can designate individuals as legacy contacts so they can access your iCloud account and personal information in the event of your death

Camera

  • Macro photo control for switching to the ultra-wide lens for capturing macro photos and videos can be enabled in Settings on iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max

TV app

  • The ‘Store’ tab allows you to browse movies, buy and rent movies in one place

CarPlay

  • Improved city map in Apple Maps with road information such as turning lanes, central reservations, bike paths and zebra crossings for supported cities

This version also includes the following improvements for your iPhone:

  • Hide My Email is available in the Mail app for iCloud+ subscribers to create unique, random email addresses
  • Find My can find the location of an iPhone for up to five hours when in low-power mode
  • In Stocks, you can view the currency for a ticker and see last year’s performance when viewing charts
  • You can now remove or rename tags in Reminders and Notes

This version also includes troubleshooting for your iPhone:

  • Siri may not respond when VoiceOver was active on a locked iPhone
  • ProRAW photos could potentially appear overexposed when viewed in third-party photo-editing apps
  • Garage door HomeKit scenes may not run from CarPlay when your iPhone was locked
  • CarPlay may not be able to update information about the current part for some apps
  • Video streaming apps may not be able to load content on iPhone 13 models
  • Calendar events may have been displayed on the wrong day for Microsoft Exchange users

Some features may not be available in all regions or on all Apple devices. Information about the security aspects of Apple software updates can be found at this page
