Download PerfectDisk 8.0 build 50
Raxco Software has released version 8.0 build 50 of its PerfectDisk defragmentation software. This program reorganizes the location and order of the files on the hard disk so that they can be accessed more quickly. This results in faster program launches and the PC booting itself. PerfectDisk is suitable for Windows 2000 and higher, in both the 32- and 64-bit, and Itanium variants. An evaluation version is available from this page can be downloaded, can be upgraded from here. Prices start at forty dollars. Besides some minor bug fixes, the main change in this release is the official support for Windows Vista. The full changelog looks like this:
PerfectDisk Command Center
- Fixed a bug which caused excessive delays when changing the password of managed clients.
Perfect Disk Client
- PerfectDisk is now Certified for Windows Vista. Minor changes were made to meet the certification requirements.
- We changed when the last schedule run time is updated to prevent some scheduler conflicts when two or more schedules were set to run at the same time.
- Fixed a boot-time defrag limitation when external attributes were too large.
- Fixed a bug in the post defrag statistics. The elpased time and CPU time did not support values greater than 24 hours. This has been fixed.
