Download Hitman Pro 2.6.0.1

Mark Loman has just released version 2.6.0.1 of Hitman Pro. Hitman Pro is an all-in-one solution against spyware, especially intended for the less experienced user. The program automatically downloads and runs no less than a dozen different anti-spyware and antivirus programs, including Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster, CWShredder, and NOD32. By using these in succession, the computer is thoroughly cleaned of unwanted software. After inspection, a report clearly states which hazards were found and which of the programs used found them. The biggest change in this release is that the program is now also suitable for use under Windows Vista. The full changelog looks like this:

• Added support for Windows Vista
  • Note that CWShredder and Spy Sweeper are not officially supported on Windows Vista (yet) so they are greyed out
  • Also note that the Behavioral Scan (Expert) and automatic scanning in Safe Mode are unavailable because these need to be updated and tested for Windows Vista
• Fixed a problem controlling latest update of Spyware Doctor (Hitman could stall at update)
• Improved controlling Spy Sweeper. Also, when the 14 day trial period has expired, Hitman will install Spy Sweeper 5 Scan Only Version so Spy Sweeper will still scan your system after the trial period (threats will appear in report and Expert).
• Improved Behavioral Scan
  • Improved spyware removal engine (hardened threat removal on reboot)
  • Added extra targets (associated objects) when threat is running as Service
  • Fixed targeting associated Run objects
  • Fixed serveral minor issues (ex. displaying incorrect icon)
• Improved SurfRight. When there are no open browsers (protected by SurfRight), SurfRight Helper process will be closed. The SurfRight Helper will be automatically started when a new protected browser window is opened.
• Fixed problem where new archive would not immediately appear in Quarantine
