Download SIW 1.66 build 624

Gabriel Topala released version 1.66 build 624 of SIW yesterday. SIW is an abbreviation for System Information for Windows and that is exactly what the program does: provide comprehensive information about a Windows PC. This does not only affect the hardware present in the PC, but also the software, the running processes and services, and the network. The program fits easily on an old-fashioned floppy disk and does not need to be installed to do its job. Below are all the changes the program has undergone since its previous entry in the muck tracker:

Changes in SIW 1.66 build 624:

• Added GreekLanguage. Thanks to Mr Sean Kon.

• Fixed “Sensors” (Windows 98, Intel processors).

Changes in SIW 1.65 build 623:

• Added Tools –> URL Explorer (Cookies, History and Internet Files).
• Added SpanishLanguage.
• Shows SSID and WEP Key if the WPA2 patch (KB917021) is applied.
• Added monitor support for Intel’s Core Duo/Solo, Core 2 Duo/Extreme, Xeon 5100 and all AMD K8 chips’ die temperature. The temperature readings are very accurate as the data is collected from a Digital Thermal Sensor (or DTS) which is located in each individual processing core, near the hottest part.
• “siw /help” Print the list of all available command line options. Thanks to Arthur Napora.
• Removed the VIA686A SMBus support.
• Extended Network Info shows City, State/Province, Country, Latitude and Longitude
