Transport Tycoon Deluxe is a successful 1995 computer game in which the player controls a transport company. He or she takes on rival companies in a battle to establish the largest transportation empire. Openttd builds on this idea and is released under the gpl license. The open source version of the game comes with new and improved features, including larger levels and the ability to play against other players online. Please note that Openttd requires some files from the original Transport Tycoon Deluxe. These files contain copyrighted material and can therefore not be used in an open source program. The developers recently released version 0.6.0 with the following succinct announcement:
