PlaySMS is a gateway application that allows SMS messages to be received, sent and forwarded. In addition, you can receive information from your server with SMS commands and execute configured scripts. The developers recently released version 0.5.1 with the following changelog:

Version 0.5.1:

• Some tables name changed, tblConfig removed
• Some variables name changed
• Fix error calculating message length causing $sms_msg > 160 char
• Fix some registry globals compatibility issue
• Add gateway module template
• Add stripslashes on some output variables
• Add and change some note on file INSTALL and FAQ
