Intel has quietly introduced a Core i3-10100F CPU for desktops. The chip recently appeared in the company’s product database. The processor will have four cores, eight threads and a suggested retail price of ’79 to $ 97 ‘. A release date is not mentioned.

Chip manufacturer Intel appears to have posted the processor on its product website without any announcement, Tom’s Hardware noted. The chip is based on the Comet Lake architecture and features four cores and eight threads. The clock speed is 3.6 GHz while the turbo frequency is 4.3 GHz.

The chip gets a tdp of 65W and comes with a PCG 2015C cooler. The ‘F’ suffix in the product name means that the processor does not have an integrated GPU. Intel previously released a regular Core i3-10100 with integrated UHD Graphics 630 GPU. Otherwise, the two chips are identical.

Intel seems to be positioning the chip against the Ryzen 3 3300X and Ryzen 3 3100. Those AMD CPUs were released earlier this year and both have four Zen 2 cores with simultaneous multithreading. Both Ryzen chips do not have an integrated GPU and cost 120 and 99 dollars respectively, although the 3300X has regularly sold out since its introduction.

Intel reports on its website that the Core i3-10100F will have a suggested retail price of between $ 79 and $ 97. Converted and including VAT, the European suggested retail price could then fall between 81 and 99 euros, although official prices may deviate from this. The CPU would appear in the fourth quarter of 2020, according to the product page, but a specific release date is not mentioned.
