Bram Cohen, the original developer of the BitTorrent protocol, has just released version 5.0.0 of the eponymous client. At the moment the software is only available for Windows and Linux, for Mac OS X the counter is still at 4.4.1. BitTorrent has been developed to distribute large and popular files easily, without the original provider having to have a big pipe to the Internet. Everyone who downloads immediately helps with the further distribution of the files. We can’t tell you what exactly has changed in this version, because the changelog hasn’t been updated in a long time.
