On his site, Hendrik Holtmann has a new version of smcFanControl in the form of 1.2 released. This new version can be downloaded from our file server and takes up just under 333 kilobytes of disk space as a zip file. With the help of smcFanControl it is possible to adjust the rotation speed of the cooling fan(s) of a MacBook or MacBook Pro as desired. This makes it possible to bypass the System Management Control of the Apple laptop and to let the fan(s) work at a speed that you can set yourself, at a speed between 1000 and 6000 revolutions per minute. In addition, the program can automatically apply the adjusted rotational speed when Mac OS X boots. A small test of smcFanControl can be found in this mess post.
