Download Lame 3.97

The final release of Lame 3.97 was released yesterday on the mp3 development website mp3dev. Although Lame stands for Lame Ain’t an MP3 Encoder, it is indeed an MP3 encoder. However, it is not a standalone program. However, the source code is available and it is used within a large number of programs used to convert audio into mp3 format. The entire development history of version 3.0 can be read on this page, these are the changes that have been made in version 3.97:
