Photos of connections to suspected Xbox Series X prototype come online
Photos have been posted online showing what the back and front of the Xbox Series X console might look like. The unofficial photos of what appears to be a prototype include the connectors on the back of Microsoft’s new Xbox console.
The pictures appeared on Twitter and were posted to Neogaf by user CurryPanda. He states that they look real and that they are a prototype; the final consumer version may therefore look slightly different. Brad Sams of the Thurott website states that it is authentic hardware and that it is not a 3d-printed model. According to him, these photos confirm the earlier reports about the layout of the back.
The front doesn’t show much more than a vertical slot for discs, an Xbox logo and a USB connection. There is more to see on the back, such as the ventilation holes to remove warm air. There is also an optical audio connection, a single HDMI output, an Ethernet connection, two USB-a ports and a connection for the power supply. According to Sams, the flat, rectangular slot is intended for diagnostic tasks; it may not be present on the final release version.
Curiously enough, the photo of the back not only shows that it is a prototype, but a barcode with serial number is also visible. Someone seems to have managed to do this serial number to register on his Microsoft account, which indicates that it is probably not a fake number.
