Microsoft adds graphing feature to Calculator in Windows
Microsoft is adding a graphical feature to the Calculator app in Windows. The calculator can plot multiple formulas and users can then adjust variables to see how that affects the results.
The feature is coming to Windows 10 and Windows 10S next school year, Microsoft says. The feature is aimed at students. Lecturers can, for example, turn off the function for students during a test or exercise, Microsoft assures. The feature is already available to users in the Insiders program and will be in the stable version of Windows for the next school year, Microsoft says.
Microsoft points out that it has put the code for the Calculator on GitHub as an open source project, and if users find any missing features, they can write it themselves and add it to the app. It was already known by the publication on GitHub last year that Microsoft was working on the idea for a graphing calculator function.
