Google seems to want to add call recording option to Phone app
Code points out that Google is working on a feature to let users record calls in the Phone app. This is currently not possible by default in recent Android versions, often not with third-party apps.
XDA-Developers found references to the recording function in the code of the beta 43.0.289191107 of the Phone app. According to the site, that may be related to Xiaomi. He exchanges his own Phone app for that of Google, mentioning that the function to record calls would come in the app for Xiaomi devices later this year. The code does not refer specifically to the Chinese manufacturer.
The code points out that there will be a button in the interface during phone calls to start a recording. Call recording is no longer possible in Google’s mobile operating system since Android 9 Pie. Also, many third-party apps can no longer record phone calls because the operating system no longer allows many ways to do that.
