Apple has new firmware put online for the entire product range of its iPod. The new firmware has been given version numbering 2006-06-28 and can be downloaded via Mac OS X or Windows 2000 and Windows XP applied to the iPod. Version 2006-06-28 includes support for the new ‘Nike + iPod’ music player. In addition, the iPod shuffle has a built-in volume limiter and an unknown number of bugs are fixed. The download for Mac OS X is just over 41MB in size, the download for Windows is over 56MB. However, the downloads consists of all firmwares for all iPods, so you only have a single download and don’t have to search for the right firmware for your music player. Pod Updater 2006-06-28 includes iPod Software 1.1.2 for iPod, iPod Software 1.2 for iPod nano, and iPod Software 1.1.4 for iPod shuffle. iPod Updater 2006-06-28 contains the same software versions as iPod Updater 2006-03-23 ​​for all other iPod models.
