Panos Panay, CEO of Microsoft’s Surface division, says in an interview with The Verge that more time is needed to bring the Surface Neo to the market ‘with the right experience’. In April there were rumors that Microsoft would postpone the Surface Neo to next year.

Since the original announcement, the Surface Neo has been relatively quiet. Microsoft has now released the Surface Duo smartphone presented at the same time. In the interview, Panay looks ahead to the arrival of more devices with two screens: “I believe there will be more variants with different sizes. I think other companies will also make devices with other sizes”. Microsoft says it wants to make the form factor of devices with two screens widespread. “All apps have to work on these screens. We are committed to that and we have a roadmap with multiple screen sizes,” said Panay.
