Watch Dogs: Legion will eventually get 60fps option for next-gen consoles
Ubisoft announced during an ask me anything on Reddit that a Watch Dogs: Legion update is in the works for the next-gen consoles that will allow for a higher frame rate. This makes 60fps an option. Whether that also applies to the Xbox Series S is not clear.
Watch Dogs: Legion live producer Latheeshe Thillainathan said during the session that Ubisoft is working on the 60fps option for next-gen consoles. However, she did not give an exact release date for this yet. Not long after that this also became shared by the game’s official Twitter account.
Watch Dogs: Legion came out last October and turned out to have no mode for 60fps on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Thillainathan said at the time that the game would have ray tracing and a maximum combination of 4k and 30fps on the next-gen. gen consoles.
In a recently published roadmap Watch Dogs: Legion didn’t mention the higher framerate option yet. That roadmap shows the updates that will be available from April to August. So it could be that the 60fps option will only come out after that, even though that roadmap is mainly about new in-game content and the introduction of the higher frame rate could be separate from that planning.
