A developer has shown an early version of CyanogenMod based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in a video. The video shows a prototype of the LG Optimus 4X HD. Many things work, but CM features have not yet been added.

The video was posted by Ricardo Cerqueira on Google+ and shows an early version of CyanogenMod 10, which will be based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The developer uses a prototype of the LG Optimus 4X HD. That might make porting easier. Where the Nexus 7 has an Nvidia Tegra 3 T30L processor on board, the Optimus 4X HD runs on the almost equal T30 in the Tegra 3 line.

Features of CyanogenMod have not been added yet; it looks like it’s just the stock version of android. However, there are many things that already work, such as audio, the calling functionality, camera and WiFi.

It is unclear whether the video means that the Optimus 4X HD will be one of the first devices to receive CM 10. The ports for devices with a Tegra 3 or TI Omap 4 processor will probably go the fastest, because those are also the processors of the Nexus devices that have had an update. The easily customizable custom firmware CyanogenMod is one of the most popular custom ROMs for Android devices. The firmware has two million active users. Work is underway on CM 10 releases for many different devices from Samsung, Sony and HTC, among others.
