The Pirate Bay proxy Greenhost must be offline

At the request of Stichting Brein, the court in The Hague has ordered hosting company Greenhost to take its The Pirate Bay proxy All4xs.net offline. The hosting company has since complied with the ex-parte order.

Stichting Brain has again won a lawsuit in which a ex parte order is given to a The Pirate Bay proxy. Hosting provider Greenhost, who was behind the proxy, had to stop referring to the Pirate Bay within six hours of the verdict being issued. Greenhost, which has not been heard in view of the ex parte procedure applied, is still considering further steps.

Greenhost previously received a summation from Brain. In a reaction on that summons, Greenhost announced that the proxy service All4xs.net itself does not offer illegal content. One of the objections of the hosting provider was that Brein only refers to the illegality of The Pirate Bay, while no concrete examples of copyright infringement have been mentioned in the summation.

Sasha van Geffen, director of Greenhost finds it ‘ridiculous’ that, despite a request from Greenhost, there has been no question of rebuttal. “In our letter, the option was clearly left open for consultation, so it cannot be seen that Brein had no other options than an ex parte,” said Van Geffen to web world
