Members of Parliament in Zeeland complain about the battery life of Windows tablets

Members of the Zeeland Provincial Council are dissatisfied with the tablets they had been given to meet paperless. The Windows tablets sometimes do not last a whole meeting and are cumbersome.

The Windows tablets are not well received by the members of the Zeeland Provincial Council, reports Broadcasting Zeeland. The intention was that the tablets would make paperless meetings possible, but according to the broadcaster, the piles of paper are still on the table during meetings of the Provincial Council.

The reason for this is that the tablets do not always last a whole meeting on a battery charge, and that according to the States members, adjusting documents and taking notes is laborious. The States members opted for a Dell Latitude ST-tablet with Windows 7. The trial with the tablets has been running since March.

Not all Members of Parliament are dissatisfied. The ChristenUnie faction opted for an iPad on its own initiative, although it was warned that the IT department does not support it. The ChristenUnie States members are happy with their tablet.
