OPPO would like to release a folding phone with a folding screen this summer, 91Mobiles reports. There are no specs yet, but OPPO would aim for a phone that is cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3, which came out for 1050 euros.

OPPO has not yet confirmed the name for the device, 91Mobiles reports, based on information from leaker Mukul Sharma. The leaker has previously released correct information about unannounced phones, although this has not happened at such an early stage. The release is planned for this summer and a maximum of the end of September, the site reports.

The folding telephone is a popular application of folding OLED screens. For example, Lenovo has already released two Motorola razr models with a folding OLED screen, while Samsung has launched two Flip phones. Huawei recently released the P50 Pocket.

In addition, OPPO is reportedly working on a successor to the Find N, the foldable smartphone that it released in China late last year. It should be released later, possibly early next year. It is not yet known what changes therein will be.
