Nintendo is re-releasing old Super Mario games on Switch

Nintendo is re-releasing old Mario games for the Switch. Versions of the old Super Mario Bros games for the NES will be released on Thursday, with a bundle containing Super Mario 64, Sunshine and Galaxy in two weeks.

The games are in bundles that Nintendo will temporarily sell in celebration of the 35th anniversary of Mario games on Nintendo consoles, the company said in its Nintendo Direct announcement. The bundle with Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario 64 costs $ 60. Super Mario All-Stars, which originally came out for SNES in 1993, will be out on Switch on Thursday.

In addition, there will be an online multiplayer version of the original Super Mario Bros, where players can play with 35 at a time. Defeated enemies end up with other players in the level. That version is also temporarily playable on the Switch, from October 1 this year to March 31 next year.

Nintendo also announced physical karts for Mario Kart. The karts follow the Switch game and, for example, stop when a kart is hit by a red shield in the game. Mario Kart Live Home Circuit will be released next month for an as yet unknown price.
