Download Vopt 9.09

Golden Bow Systems has updated its Vopt defragmenter software to version 9.09. However, the program, which only runs under Windows 2000 or higher, can do more than just defragment. For example, it can also synchronize the system clock with an atomic clock on the Internet, check the hard disk for errors, get rid of unnecessary files and actually empty the free space on the hard disk. The changelog of this release shows the following changes:

• Significant changes for Vista (x64) and Windows 7 (x64) compatibility.
• Optional packing of restore files at the end of the drive (XP only).
• Added compaction of system and application startup files.
• Relaxed packing of FAT32 drives for faster defrags.
• Added “Cleanup” checkbox to “Shortcuts” dialog.
• New command buttons above the menu bar.
• Sundry improvements and fixes.
• New installer with greater security for single user installs.
