Age of Empires III: DE adds Incas and Swedes coming October 15th
Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition releases October 15th and brings multiple improvements and expansions to the strategy game. Among other things, two new civilizations have been added: the Incas and the Swedes.
The Swedish settlements are characterized by red houses while the Incas populate their striking stone buildings, according to the announcement of Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. For the Swedes, the makers emphasize military tactics, while for the Incas the size of their empire in South America is emphasized. Microsoft has also made changes to the various North American Indian civilizations that should better reflect their cultures.
The new edition of Age of Empires III gets two new game modes: Historical Battles and the Art of War. Both are also included in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. One mode allows the player to replay battles from the past and Art of War allows players to train some common battle scenarios and strategies.
The strategy game contains the Warchiefs and Asian Dynasties expansions. The resolution is now up to 4k and the various 3D graphic models have been rebuilt to modern standards. The graphical interface and audio have also been refreshed and there is crossplay support.
Insider testers can already try the game before its October 15 release. The game will be released on that date for Steam and the Microsoft Store for 20 euros. Those who own Age of Empires III: Complete Collection or the Definitive Editions of the previous two Age of Empires will receive a 25 percent discount and the same applies to owners of Xbox Game Pass PC and Ultimate. In addition, there will be a bundle of the three Definitive Editions versions for 45 euros. The original Age of Empires III game first appeared in 2005. Microsoft announced a successor in 2017, Age of Empires IV.
